She saved the life of captain John Smith by holding his head in her arms as he was about to be clubbed to death by her father's warriors. In 1612, she was captured by the English. She converted to christanity and took the name Rebecca. In 1614, she married John Rolfe with the blessing from the government and her father. In 1615, she had her first child named Thomas, and a year later she moved to England. Right before Pocahontas, or Rebecca was going to return to Virgina she died in 1617.
